This one took a lot more work than it should have in Photoshop to make it usable. Unfortunately, I was photographing Maroon Bells Peaks the night after the full moon. I love doing star trails, but it takes a moonless night to get a good one. I would have liked a two hour exposure for better trails, but it really didn't get dark enough to start the exposure until over an hour past sundown. At that time, the near full moon was already rising. There were a few clouds behind me to the east that barely moved over the hour that I exposed this shot, both good and bad. To the good, it gave the moonlight a warm glow on the peaks, but unfortunately, since it moved very little, it left the right peak a little underexposed. I also cloned out one airplane that flew right through the middle of the shot. In the original RAW image, everything but the sky and the tips of the peaks were pretty dark.

My old stomping grounds back in the 1960's. Have not been back to the bells or over Buckskin Pass since then. You took a difficult situation and turned out a masterpiece. Great job and thanks for the memories.
