Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on the High Level Bridge in Edmonton, AB

Time

It was late night from 11pm-2am

Lighting

This was during the beta period of the new lights that were installed on the high level bridge before canada day

Equipment

I used my Canon 6D, Canon 14mm F/2.8 L Lens and a gorilla pod

Inspiration

I was out cruising in my Honda S2000 and noticed that the lights were lit up on the bridge so thought I’d try to take a long exposure photo to see how it would turn out. So I went home and took of my hard top and put my DSLR on a gorilla pod and placed it on my S2000 rolled bar. I had to take about 10 different passes on the bridge to get this one photo as there were still cars driving around at night. This was on the last pass of the bridge and there were no cars ahead of me. Snapped a few long exposures while I tried to stay still and let the lights stretch a bit.

Editing

Not really, just some minor tweaks on Lightroom

In my camera bag

Canon 6D, 14mm L, 35mm L and 85mm L at the time of this photo was taken since then I have upgraded some of my gear as this bag was stolen from my vehicle months later

Feedback

This was honestly me enjoying a drive out in the city and saw a creative opportunity and try something out and it turned out amazing! This was my first long exposure photo I’ve done and I still love it to this day
