Location
This photo was taken in the basement of one old library, where all these old books, some of them couple of centuries old are kept. I was kindly permitted to photograph some of them.Time
It was late afternoon, but beeing a basement, it is always quite dark in there (also becouse of conservation - strong light would harm those valuable books).Lighting
Lighting was very simple, used only a small desk lamp that was arround.Equipment
I used Tamron 18-200mm lens on a Nikon D3200 camera, no flash or tripod (used other books as a stand for my camera, to keep it firm), and used remote shutter release.Inspiration
I found antique or historic objects and places always fascinating and extremly interesting, as those are object that have a soul, have a story, or so many stories to tell... Old books like those especially can tickle the immagination, bring you and draw you into a completely different world in just a minute... And the same happens with a photo like this one. It attracts the viewer because it awakes one's immagination.Editing
I did some quite basic post processing in Lightroom, higlights/shadows, a bit of noise reduction and added a quite strong vignette for the artistic vintage effect. In my camera bag
Nikon D3200, Nikon f/1.8 50mm lens, Tamron 18-200mm lens, a remote shutter release, little tripod for emergencies, and plenty of SD cards...Feedback
Use or immagination, allow your self to imerse in that magical world... try different angles, different compositions, play with darkness, shadows and light, be creative! And be careful of the high ISO for the noise!
