Behind The Lens
Location
I took this photo in a park in Iowa. I've always loved nature and so my photography usually revolves around nature.Time
It was in the afternoon on a kind of gloomy and rainy day, which is my favorite for pictures.Lighting
I tried to get dim lighting to make the picture more melancholic and gloomy to fit the kind of emotion I was trying to invoke with the picture.Equipment
This was a picture I took when I was first starting out, so the only equipment used was my Pixel 3 smartphone camera.Inspiration
I had gone to this park especially to shoot gloomy photos and I remember going on loops around it for a couple of hours and then I saw an unkempt path off to the side and followed it a while until I got to this sceneEditing
I used minimal post-processing. I corrected the coloring to make it a little darker, but I really liked the grainy look of the original. In my camera bag
When I took this picture I didn't even have a bag, just my phone and a sense of adventure! But now I carry my Canon, a 50mm lens, and a tripod.Feedback
My advice would be to always be looking for a good shot, and when an idea or inspiration comes to you don't hesitate to jump into a car and drive until you find something interesting to explore and create with.
