Behind The Lens
Location
For this shoot, I met with model @roberta_ms5 in the studio to play with light, shadow and body paint. My studio is basically an empty office floor with all its charm and lack thereof. For this shoot, it was a great place.Time
We met in the studio and were therefore independent of ambient light and the time of the day. I think it was an evening after work.Lighting
I used two hard lights as rimlights, i.e. left and right behind the model and a big soft light right behind the camera. That means that the camera was right between the softbox and the model.Equipment
Lighting was done with three studio flashes, fired by a radiotrigger; she was shot with a Nikon D800 with a 85mm lens. We used a black paper background.Inspiration
Bodypaint removes facial features, a person may become unrecognisable by just a thin layer of paint. I also love the combination of black with gold. I just love to play with it.Editing
No major post processing was necessary, just some adjustment of exposure, contrast, etc.In my camera bag
I don't think gear matters so much. Nevertheless, I love to shoot with my Nikon D800 with a 85 mm lens.Feedback
You'll create a mess, the paint will be everywhere. Apply several thin layers and be patient. Have fun!
