With a dry forecast of light wispy clouds, I headed to Gwithian at a mid tide straight after work - to arrive 45 mins before sunset. I hoped for epic colour in the sky - reflected in the water!
I don't know why I bother checking the weather! The clouds over head were heavy. And just as I parked up, the rain came. A rummage around my camera bag turned up a lightweight rain coat - to my relief!
Disappointed with the flat light, I half-heatedly roamed the rocks for interesting compositions that I could use on another day.
Here, I liked how the tide surged through an inlet in the rocks and churned around. With the fading light and a small aperture, I managed to extend the exposure time to 1-4 sec - to capture the churning motion.
I would have liked to compose the shot to show the gap in the rocks - but I would have lost the lighthouse from the frame.
