Upon arriving at Marazion at first light, I could see a thick bank of low cloud to the east - which I knew would obscure the rising sun.

The dawn light moments before sunrise was pretty crisp though - with some subtle pink tones.

So, I made my way to a spot from where I had shot the mount years ago - but in stormy conditions. And now, with more experience in composing an image (and a taller tripod), I used the sweeping curve of the Red River to lead the eye into the picture.

The low light levels naturally required a long exposure of 4.6 seconds - without an ND filter. I did though, use a hard grad ND filter to balance the exposure of the sky with rest of the image.
