Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo in Queensland, Australia. It’s really special to me as I hadn’t had the opportunity to visit in 10 years.

Time

I took this in the morning, I was outside enjoying the sunshine and decided to take a photo of our table

Lighting

The lighting is all natural. I was amazed at how much the colour came out up against the white bowls

Equipment

I took the shot with my iPhone 8. No other equipment was used

Inspiration

Coming back after 10 years, with my mum and best friend, I wanted to take the photo as a memory. The 3 bowls together to show the 3 of us enjoying each other’s company

Editing

In my camera bag

I always carry a tripod for when I need one, but I love using a macro lens on my iPhone

Feedback

I think looking at the award I received from this photo proves to me that a good photo doesn’t always require prior planning. I arranged the bowls a little around the table, keep moving the objects you can control around the frame and experiement with the different angles and looks you can create. Something more dramatic and linear or styalised.
