I took a photo of a sunset with a cairn like that in the foreground from a similar perspective. One comment I got was that the cairn dominated and pulled attention away from my subject. I guess it comes down to preference, but if I were to do mine over again, I'd probably take the shot from a highet perspective to put the cairn lower...

It’s all about perspective isn’t it? I took a series of photos from the camera almost on the rocks to the highest the tripod would go. I wanted the viewers eye to go to the cairn first and look much bigger than the cliff and lighthouse. Of course the cliff and lighthouse is much bigger but it doesn’t look like it. With much of my work it’s about moving the eyes through the entire photo to see what it’s about. Thanks so much for taking the time to comment, Don! Much appreciated!
