Location
I took this photo in the Rocky Mountain National parkTime
This photo was taken at about 4:45 AM on New Years Eve day. It was about -5 degrees that day.Lighting
I used all natural lighting and there was not much to use, and waited until I could just barely see with my naked eye.Equipment
I used a Canon EOS 70D with a OSX DigiPro 8500 tripod, I used a Tamron 60 mm F2 Macro lensInspiration
I wanted a great shot to end the 2016 year, Rocky Mountain National Park is one of my favorite places to shoot.Editing
There was minimal post processing on this shot, only to lighten it and watermark it ..In my camera bag
I have quite a collection in my bag, I have since upgraded to a Canon EOS 70D, with 4 lenses: A Tamron SP 60 mm F2 macro, a Canon EFS 18-55 macro, Canon EFS 55-250 zoom/macro, and a Tamron 10-24 mm 1:35-4.5 77 mm wide angle lenses. I also have a Pro Master Lightweight Tripod, extra batteries and various filters for all my lenses, I also carry a few props to use in the field such as a Crystal ball, extra lights, I carry all of my equipment in a Lowe Pro Photo Classic Bag .Feedback
This was an unusual shoot for me as I was just beginning to delve into long exposure shots and thought that this would be a nice new venue for me to shoot, It is always best to prepare for a shoot like this, Scout the area and have a plan when setting up a shoot like this, it is so much easier to shoot when you have a plan and a map of where you are going to shoot. The best advice to give is to have fun on your shoots, it shows in your photography !!!
