Dear Daisy: Myanmar outlawed the practice of tattoo on faces about 50 years ago so there are no young ladies with tattoos that way. This lady was 69 years old and it took a big effort to find her. The practice was done in Chin State, but that is one of the restricted travel zones in Myanmar. Just over the border in the Rakhine State, I was able to find 5-6 of these ladies. Yes, she certainly deserves a WOW!

The Chin ladies of Myanmar did this as a sign of beauty. They applied the tattoos at about age 12. It was outlawed by the government about 50 years ago. Wishing you a Happy New Year, Jean-Luc. :) :)

Dear Brian: Thanks for your message. I love travel and have the idea it is my advanced form of education al global culture, geography, and history. So far, I've been to 49 countries and lived in about 8 in Europe and Asia. Over the years, I've been fairly stable in recording my travels through writing and photography. My Facebook has about 22,000 photographs in several hundred albums and I've written eight books, mostly about travel. It is helpful to my lifestyle that I have made good financial decisions, am single, and don't work much. As a result I have the flexibility to move around to places that interest me. My goal now is to travel 50% of the time. I live in a quiet village near Bangkok, which is a good place to decompress between trips. At this time I am concentrating on Eastern Europe and earlier this year I made my first trip to Africa. Thanks again for your encouraging message! :) :)
