Location
This photo was taken in my living room on my couch with my cat in my wife's lap and me with the camera on a tripod using a macro adapter on my lens.Time
Sometime in the evening one night.Lighting
Preventing reflections was a pain. My cat was getting rather impatient after a few dozen tries, but some treats kept him around until we finished. In the end, I did photoshop out a small reflection from the iris, but keeping it to a minimum was a must for this photo to work!Equipment
The photo was taken with my Canon T3i on a tripod with an 55-250 lens and a macro adapter. Instead of a flash we clamped a shop lamp onto the tripod.Inspiration
This was completely experimental. I had just got new macro adapters and was experimenting with everything I could! I ended up doing an entore series of eye photos and my kitty was a willing subject thanks to some treats.Editing
Yes, I did adjust the vibrance a touch and photoshopped a reflection in the iris.In my camera bag
Currently I use a Canon 7D Mark ii. I try to keep the bag to a minimum, carrying my favourite prime lenses, 1 zoom lens, and some misc accessories and spare batteries.Feedback
Experiment, experiment, experiment! The more you learn the better your shots will get!
