My best friend and I went to see the sunset for our birthdays. Her birthday is a couple of days before mine, so we thought this would be cool. It's a beautiful location. I took this with my Nikon D-80. Copyright 2012 Orlando Delbert Photography

Location
I took this photo at the Morro Bay Golf Course, just South of Morro Bay and inside Morro Bay State Park, Morro Bay, California.Time
I took this photo between 6:30pm and 7:30pm in the evening.Lighting
I love taking photos at sunset or “golden-time” and overnight. I wanted to capture the sunset just before it dipped out of sight. This was taken with natural light with no filters.Equipment
I took this photo with a Nikon D-80 camera body and a Nikkor 24mm-85mm lens. I also used a Manfrotto tripod.Inspiration
My best friend and I have our birthdays days apart from one another. I decided to take her to this beautiful spot next to Morro Bay Golf Course. I took several photos at different stages of the sunset. This was one of my favorites from that evening. We saw several deer walking around while we were setting up.Editing
I changed the levels in Adobe Photoshop to help bring out the colors not visible to the naked eye.In my camera bag
I carry with me a Nikon D-80 camera body. The lens I use the most is a Nikkor 24mm – 85mm lens. I also take with me my iPad 3. I also use an older Manfrotto tripod. I believe as long as we know our tools, and the fundamentals of light and photography, we can capture dynamic imagery.Feedback
I always suggest knowing your equipment. You don’t need the latest and greatest to take good photos. Learn the differences in light densities, color temperatures, and lens speeds. Camera bodies will always change, but good lenses one will hold onto for many years. Always make sure you have enough light for your desired affect. Also consider what the post process will involve when you are planning the shoot. And plan beforehand to help ensure you get the shots you want, have access to the location, and have all of the gear you will need with you.
