Awesome skill!! How were you able to stack an image with the tongue out? Was that one tongue image that clear and then you just stacked the rest of the body? Thanks!

no it's all stack shots. this only takes 37 shots as i am not targeting the whole image clear, the full focus is the head

Amazing... I've photographer hundreds of bees but this photo tops all of then. How did you get the bee to pose like that?? I've tried the "in the freezer for a moment and the set it on very cold flowers" trick and get pics as they warm up and start to move, slowly at first...
Beautiful lighting!!

Behind The Lens

Location

I am presently located in Doha, Qatar and this shot is taken in my own little studio at home

Time

i have taken the shot in the evening when weather is cool and darkness all around me

Lighting

i used 3 Nikon SB200 flash. Two were setup in the both sides left and right and the third flash on the top os the subject.

Equipment

Gears used: Camera body is Nikon D810, lens is Nikon 105mm with attached Raynox 250 snap-on lens, 3 Nikon SB200 flash unit, Manfrotto tripod, trigger release cable and a home made diffusion box

Inspiration

Extreme macro is always a wonderful to see as we will be surprise how beautiful those little things when magnified

Editing

First stage of processing is done in Lightroom to balance the tone. As this is a stack shots of 37 clicks, from Lightroom all layers are transfer to Photoshop for merging

In my camera bag

I have the Nikon D810 and a Nikon D90 converted IR body. Nikon lenses such as 16-25mm, 14-24mm, 24-70mm and 70-200mm. One Nikon SB900 flash unit and a trigger release. And when i am shooting landscape i have a full filter systems included on my bag

Feedback

Extreme macro photography is a game for a long patience and everything has to be carefully setup. Lighting is the key on everything here, right lighting will produce a sharp image. Use diffuser all the time as the subject is too small and flash are strong, diffusing it good will balance the light. Practice is all you need and don't give up easily, once you find the right lighting everything will be ease for you. I have tried for over 2yrs to come up for this shot :)
