I was in Paducah Ky at the Rod in the Park car show. This is an annual car show held at Noble Park in Paducah KY. I've only been to the show twice. In 2012 the show was huge. Over 400 cars and trucks showed up, the next year maybe 50 was there. The next year we had a lot of rain and the area of the park got flooded. Most the people who showed up left cause of all the rain, only a few stayed.Time
This photo was taken during the afternoon, really not the best time to shoot a car. Didn't know that back then, but funny how much we learn over time.Lighting
Not much to share about the lighting, I used the sun light in this photo.Equipment
I used a Kodak point and shoot camera, can't remember what model it was. I no longer have that camera, I now use a Canon Rebel XTi.Inspiration
What inspired me to take this photo? It's hard to say what inspired me to take this photo. I was at a car show and was taking photos of all the other cars there. This was just one of them. Back when this was taken I wasn't into photography like I am today. Today I'd put more thought into taking the photo and the post processing.Editing
I did do some post processing, I used the Camera Raw feature in Photoshop. I increased the clarity, hue and saturation, all they up and some other adjustments. I don't remember all that I did, this photo is about 3 years old. Today I would do things a lot differently. In my camera bag
Today I shoot with a Canon EOS Rebel XTi with a Canon 28-80mm lens. Back then I used a Kodak point and shoot camera, nothing fancy.Feedback
My advice to shoot a similar photo would be to walk around the car a couple times, and just study it. The car will often tell you what the best angle to take the photo. Back when I took this photo I really didn't know what I was doing. I can only give advice from what I've learned since this photo was taken. Getting low can often give you the best results when taking a photo of a car. If you look at my car photos now, you'll see that's how I often shoot. I know it sounds funny, but I let the car tell me how to photograph it. Really the best advice I can give is to get out there and shoot. Use your own car to practice on (if you have one). I do hope to do an actual photo shoot of a car one day.
