Behind The Lens

Location

I took this photo on the trampoline in my back garden.

Time

It was around mid day, the girls had worked up a huge static field bouncing up and down.

Lighting

I love natural lighting and it was really cloudy out giving nice even lighting.

Equipment

I shot this hand held, using a Sony a58 and 35mm lens. I love a 35mm lens for quick portraits like this.

Inspiration

The girls hair was sticking up and I thought it looked awesome, I asked if I could grab a quick photo and they naturally placed heads together. My eldest had just lost her front teeth which totally adds to the photo.

Editing

I did a quick black and white conversion and added a few hues and hazes to achieve the look I wanted.

In my camera bag

In my bag is normally a canon 6D, mpe65, Venus optics 2:1 macro lens, a 400mm and always a 35 or 50mm prime. To be fair I pack everything I have...you never know.

Feedback

Always have a card and battery ready in the camera which an all rounder lens attached if your out and about, if indoors stick a wide angle or 35mm on, a 400mm ready camera is pretty much useless inside your home.
