I took this photo at my house, I was doing a newborn session and I don´t have a studio so I found a room where there´s plenty of light, everything went really well but it wasn´t until the end of the session when the baby woke up and started smiling right away.Time
It was 10 am, I remember that it was a very sunny and hot day, and the entire house was warm enough to keep the baby comfortable so that helped things get going really fast and smooth.Lighting
The whole session was in natural light, a reflector and a window were enough to make it.Equipment
I actually own a nikon d90 with a 35mm f/1.8Inspiration
I was making different poses and used a lot of props, but the entire session I had a sleeping baby to work with, which actually is great!! And we were making our last shots and the baby started to woke up, he saw his mother next to him and started smiling right away and I knew that was the moment.Editing
I did post process as I always shoot in raw, I used lightroom for highlights, shadows, exposure and contrast. And I used photoshop to get that nice skin tones with some basics adjustments in the skin colour. I usually don´t like to spend more than 5 minutes editing. In my camera bag
I just own the Nikon D90 with the 35mm f/1.8, I would love to have the Nikon D610 but is currently out of my budget.Feedback
Well, it is actually very important to make the baby feel comfortable, you have to work with them at their own pace and just wait for the right moment, they always have nice gestures that capture your attention.
