Location
The photo was taken at Lake Pernica - Slovenia.Time
This is probably one of my favorite images I've taken this year. I woke up at 4:00 AM, and took a 50 minute car drive to get there before sunrise. I was here for the first time so I had to survey the place. I used TPE to check the direction, and time of the sunrise. Then I simply waited for the the right moment.Lighting
There were ton of clouds when I got there, so for a moment I thought I would have to revisit the place, but luckily clouds cleared, allowing the Sun to light the entire scene.Equipment
This was shot with a Nikon D5300 using 18-140mm lens, mounted on a Sirui N-1004 tripod.Inspiration
I always enjoy taking photos with such amazing scenery in them, so when I came across Peter Zajfrid's photos of this place I just had to check it for myself.Editing
Yes, I process my photos similarly like Serge Ramelli. In my camera bag
I currently use Nikon D5300, 18-1400mm dx, and a 35mm f1.8 dx lenses. A spare battery, wireless remote trigger, and a couple of lenspens. I also have in my possession a Sirui K10x ballhead mounted on a Sirui N-1004 tripod. Future purchases are being considered, but for the moment this will have to do.Feedback
Be sure to plan photoshoots in advance, checking weather prior to shooting is a very useful feature. Be sure to visit the same location over and over to capture variable conditions. Don't seek excuses for not taking photos, due to the lack of the equipment, you can get great result with basic stuff, the only thing you need is knowledge, patience, and a bit of luck.
