Gui Jie is a street in Beijing that has acquired the nickname "Ghost Street". In ancient Chinese, "Gui" meant a type of ritual container or bowl and they were manufactured along this street. Another "Gui" in Chinese, however, means "ghost" or "devil" and so goes the modern nickname of this street. If you come here, you will find a sea of red lanterns that beckon walkers by to come into the scores of spicy restaurants that line the street.
