This is officially Hedwig (my former director lacked imagination and had some marketing savvy) though I always called her Brianna. The largest species of owl in the world. She was trained to fly on a tether and was, while not people friendly, at least unafraid of us two legs. It was hard to get her in a decent shot with the Point and Shoot style cameras -- she rarely kept still where the light was decent. If she was still, she was in the back of the enclosure, which was quite dark relative to the Texas Sun out and about. She's a lovely bird.

Thank you. This owl is so amazing. They're so BIG! Those eyes are the real highlight of this bird -- such a deep yellow with huge pupils.
