Location
This pic was on the front of my house by the garage door. A terrific ice storm had happened over night and killed power to the entire city of Louisville Ky, US.Time
The storm had happened overnight. Waking up that morning I got my coffee and walked out and opened garage door. This is what I seen. I went back inside. Got dressed for the weather. Grabbed my camera and spent the next few hours going around the area taken pics of what had happened.Lighting
As the daylight approached and the fog dissipated, the sun came out with the sky changing to a brilliant blue. It was great lighting for photography that morning.Equipment
I used a Sony camera with a 50-200 telephoto lens.Inspiration
I was inspired to take this and about 100 pics that day. There were scenes that had never been seen before in that area. It was something to back up the many stories I had seen that morning.Editing
The only post processing was to edit pictures by cutting out unwanted items in pic. White balance and colors were on the money as the sun came out.In my camera bag
I use a couple of cameras in separate bags. I keep different size lens, wipe and a brush for the lens. I also have some different filters to obtain the feeling of the shot. I carry a flash in one of the bags and also any cables that are needed, such as to charge battery and USB.Feedback
When an event happens that is not the norm is a great time to get the camera out. When traveling into an area not familiar with is also another great time to have a camera with you. The Earth has many photo opportunities to shoot a and create great memories.
