Hose Sonsbeek , originating from 1744, is a country house located on a hill overlooking the city of Arnhem. The middle part was built for the young orphaned Adriana van Bayen (1723-1755), and presumably at the end of the eighteenth century with the side wings enlarged.
The building, which has had various uses in the past (including from 1900 as a hotel-pension), is locally often called "White Villa" or "City Villa Sonsbeek" because of the white facade, which also used to have other colors.
Since 1986, the mansion had a museum function. Sonsbeek Art&Design was located there from 1994 to 2004. Afterwards a brasserie, restaurant and wine bar. In 2017 there is a grand café and various hotel rooms.
The Municipality of Arnhem has designated Huis Sonsbeek as the official wedding location.
