Abstract landscape photography. Creative storytelling and composition using a lens ball at the seashore. This image is a unique perspective on the iconic and familiar landscape of Penmon Point featuring the much loved subject of many photographers , Penmon Lighthouse on the Isle of Anglesey , off the North Wales Mainland in the UK. Using shallow depth and macro settings , a low pov and a subtle appearance of leading lines to guide the viewer from the landscape mirrored in the ball to the landscape obscured but distinguishable in the blurred background beyond. It is a portrait of the island and a architectural gem taken with a conceptual and contemporary eye. The set up of the shot was key and also took a good deal of planning and patience as many natural elements needed to occur at the same time. this composition required a quality and clear light from the right direction on a clear day coupled with a low tide to reach the location being shot but to also have the shingle beach above water to create the contrast of layers and a point in time in which the regular visitors to the spot were not in the shot which would have pulled the eye away from the focal subject. A storytelling image which proves the need to research the area being photographed and plan the composition of the piece in detail ahead of time. Seascape Photography using manipulation techniques
