Behind The Lens

Location

This shot was taken in the park near my house. It was snowing so just went out to enjoy the weather and so I didn't have my camera with me. I just clicked it with my mobile phone.

Time

A snowstorm hit the North-East part of the United States on Feb 06, 2021. It was snowing for the entire two days. Due to the continuous snowfall, a good amount of snow got accumulated on roads. On Feb 07, 2021, at noon around 4 PM EST, my flatmate and I stepped out for shawling. It was not snowing at that time so the weather was quite pleasant. Families came out with their small kids, those kids were playing in the snow, the atmosphere was giving a festive vibe. So, my flatmate and I decided to give a visit to a park near our house, and there I clicked this picture on Feb 07, 2021, around 04:15 PM EST.

Lighting

As we stepped out for a sudden detour, I was not having my camera and other photography accessories with me. So any artificial lighting hasn't been used while clicking this picture. As it was snowing for two days, the sky was cloudy, and hence natural sunlight was not there. I didn't use a flashlight for this picture.

Equipment

I had my mobile phone with me, and I clicked this picture through it. The mobile model is the ASUS Zenphone Max Pro M1.

Inspiration

As it was snowing for the entire two days, I was not expecting that many people, especially families with kids in the park. Youngsters were just roaming, kids were playing, and aged people were sitting on the cold metal benches and enjoying hot beverages, the atmosphere was giving a festive vibe. As two years before the pandemic hit the world, and turned many people's life black & white. I have seen how different cultures avoid colors and go for either white or black when something sad is happening around. But what was there in front of my eyes was incredible. I could see only black and white colors and tremendous happiness on people's faces. This brought a soothing smile to my face, and I couldn't stop myself clicking this moment.

Editing

Not so much.

In my camera bag

If I go for a photography tour, I have my Nikon D5200, and every day I have my mobile with me.

Feedback

Don't go out with the purpose of clicking a shot. Go to enjoy the moment and you will find your shot. According to me, the best shot is when your feelings get associated with a shot.
