Location
This photo was taken at a neigbors farm at the end of the day.Time
I photographed this peony as the sun was setting across the road from my neighbor's farm. The play of light on the peony was subtle and gentle which made for a good capture.Lighting
Natural light is my favorite, I'm not a fan of using a flash or artificial lighting even though I do experiment with it. But there is an ambiance to natural light and how it plays onthe world around us.Equipment
I used my Nikon d500 with an 18/55 mmlensInspiration
My neighbor is a farmer that has fields all through out our neighborhood and his home is around the corner from mine. Several times a day I walk past the fields and his home and every springtime I fall in love with the flowers and trees blooming in his yard. The white peonies are my favorite and on this particular evening after walking my dog, I grabbed my camera and took some photos of his yard in bloom, but this peony was my favorite shot.Editing
There is no post-processing in this photo. In my camera bag
I carry my Nikon d500and several lenses, a flash, extra batteries, lighting sticks, a Nikon D90, and a varity of tripods that are in my trunk.Feedback
My advice is to be patient and trust your eyes, be instinctual with what you see and percieve all angles of the shot you want to capture.
