The northern bald ibis, hermit ibis, or waldrapp (Geronticus eremita) is a migratory bird found in barren, semi-desert or rocky habitats, often close to running water. This 70–80 cm (28–31 in) glossy black ibis, which, unlike many members of the ibis family, is non-wading, has an unfeathered red face and head, and a long, curved red bill. It breeds colonially on coastal or mountain cliff ledges, where it typically lays two to three eggs in a stick nest, and feeds on lizards, insects, and other small animals.

I love that Nikon 200-500 mm lens. Great stabilisation and a super surprising bokeh, nothing is edit at the background.

Ik wist niet wat me overkwam toen ik de foto op mijn computer zag. Ik had de lens toen net gekocht, wist dat het bokeh mooi was, maar dat dit gebeurde had ik in mijn stoutste dromen niet vverwacht.

As I just explaind to Michel (in Dutch), is that I was totally surprised with this bokeh. I just had bought the lens, knew that the bokeh was fine, but this..... it's amazing. Thanks again for your nice comment.

Thanks Kurt. It's due to the great bokeh of the Nikon 200-500. Heavy but very beautiful and a great VR!

Awesome capture. Nice composition. Beautiful detail in the feathers. Would not want to tangle up with that beak. I think I might lose the battle.
