Behind The Lens

Location

Taken at Titchfield Abbey this is a medieval abbey and later country house, located in the village of Titchfield near Fareham in Hampshire, England. The abbey was founded in 1222 for Premonstratensian canons, an austere order of priests. The Abbey is currently in ruins, yet still manages to give great photography opportunities. This is a bolt that still holds the doors up.

Time

It was during a damp miserable day, mid afternoon.

Lighting

The cloudy damp day made the light so much softer. filtering lots of the sunlight.

Equipment

canon 70d, hand held no flash, no filters

Inspiration

It was the look of the wood and contrast of the bolt that caught my attention. moving in closer gave me a better look the nut itself rusty and yet still very much a functioning nut and bolt. The colours compliment each other.

Editing

Not much tweaking, cropping and a touch of sharpening.

In my camera bag

Canon 70d, canon 100/400mm usm2 wide angle and a 55m

Feedback

look at everything with a keen eye, inspiration comes in many forms. see the world for what it is, contrast and light. most of all always keep a camera with you.
