That's what I call a beautiful photo. A portret that is fresh and beautiful... not to seduce, no camouflage.

Many thanks this was my first attempt at High Key studio work. It worked out all right.

Location
Having always been interested in photography. It was a release for me after a difficult shift as a nurse. This helped me to relax. Some years later I finally got around to going to college to study Art, part of which was a photography course. The image was taken in the studio at college. Where I was studying for my HNC in Photography.Time
This was one of my first encounters with studio lighting. Fortunately for me the college had a great couple of tutors. It was shot during the morning. The whole class was involved, just so happens that Hollie was in my class, and group at the time.Lighting
We were taught to set the lights up. In the studio. Then we all took part in either being the model or the photographer. The lighting was two softboxes on two Bowens lights. One at either side of the subject.Equipment
Bowens lighting. Two softboxes Studio Camera tripod Camera Nikon D3000 18-55mm Nikon lens. Radio flash trigger.Inspiration
It was part of the classwork. We were trying out this for the first time. Hollie was quite shy at the time and hated getting her picture taken. My job was made slightly harder by that fact. After putting her at ease. I managed to capture this in colour.Editing
Post processing was done in Photoshop, on the iMac. After a couple of tweeks in Photoshop. It was then converted into black and white, and colour balanced. In my camera bag
Quite a lot actually. Nikon D810 nowadays. It was a Nikon D200 before that. My lenses are 10mm fisheye, 18- 24 mm f2.8, 24 -70 mm f2.8, 70 - 200 mm f 2.8 all are Nikon lenses Nikon speed light Numerous rechargeable batteries, for both the speed light, and the Camera. Battery pack for the camera. Shutter release for the camera. Most importantly is the lightweight tripod. Which is one of several I own. That and a set of neutral density filters. You'll never know when you're going to need them.Feedback
Have patience and take your time. Chat and make your subject feel comfortable in front of the lens. Don't just wait for the moment to arrive. Keep on shooting you will see it happening before your eyes. The model will then start to relax. You will see the moment happen. However don't forget to push the shutter release. There you've captured the moment. Best of luck.
