The way in which you've captured the natural light here is superb. Makes me want to go there.

Great photo and always a place I would love to visit. Bucket list locale. the river draws you from the foreground to the mountains and the coloration of the sky, awesome.

Location
This photo was taken just outside of El Chalten in Argentina, along Highway 23.Time
This imaged was captured in the mid-to-late morning. This side of Fitz Roy is only lit during the front part of each day before it slides into shadow.Lighting
The most classic photographs of Fitz Roy use the red alpine glow to accentuate its peaks. Nicely diffused light can be achieved for many hours after the alpine glow has left as long as there are clouds to help reduce the rising sun. I did not use any HDR for this particular composition, I just exposed for the highlights.Equipment
Sony A7rII with a 24-240mm lens, Feisol tripod and Arca-swiss monoball.Inspiration
Anyone who drives into El Chalten cannot help but gawk at the majestic view of the Fitz Roy mountain peaks. The Rio De Las Vueltas along highway 27 serves as the perfect leading foreground into this mountain. Galen Rowell and Marc Adamus were the ones who inspired me to check out this mountain peak.Editing
I burned the skies and dodged the foreground, applied additional warmer temperatures to the foreground tufts and mid-ground, then manually vignetted the photo to emphasize the leading curve into the horizon. I also applied some clarity to the water to bring out a little more definition. In my camera bag
1 camera, 1 wide zoom, 1 telephoto, a tripod, a pouch of GND (2-stop) and ND (3, 5, 10-stop) filters, a nodal bar, cleaners, headlamp, and a remote trigger.Feedback
If you have a critical target, it is best to plan at least 2-3 visits to the same spot in case weather does not cooperate with you. To increase the chances of a satisfying and strong composition, plan to return to the same place in another year or so. A lot of photographers walk around with a "bucket list" mentality of capturing locations, but rushing to the next checkbox will often sell yourself short of amazing compositions.
