Behind The Lens
Location
This image was captured in a garden in St. Augustine, Florida where we are harbored.Time
If I remember correctly it was a morning capture on a cloudy day. I take so many shots at so many different times of the day it'shard to keep track and properties are not always correct.Lighting
I was looking for some great contrast in black and whites. The image turned out better than expected looking into dark matter.Equipment
The imaged was captured using a Nikon D3100 with a 50mm lens with no flash.Inspiration
The Saga plant has always interested me with it's prehistoric appearance, curved leaves and brute existence. I like my viewers feel and experience what I see and feel in every image I capture. There is inspiration and beauty in everything!Editing
I try my best not to add to any processing of my images. I like to capture raw substance in every one. Editing to me is like removing the true essence of beauty that my minds eye really see's in each image. In my camera bag
Camera of course with two lenses, fixed and a zoom. Sometimes whatever lens I leave home with has to do.Feedback
Black and white images are not always easy to create. You can easily blow them out to the dark or gray contrast side. My motto for any capture is the more shots the better. Figuring out in your visual field the fifty-fifty of black and white to create the best contrast.
