Absolutely beautiful! How do you get the water to look so milky?

Is the water really that color? Wow! This is so beautiful. The water looks cold but refreshing too. Not that I’m saying one should drink it...

Location
This photo was taken at Sunwapta falls in Jasper national park, Alberta, Canada.Time
At first we were having second thoughts of going here because of the long drive from Banff. But the lure of the place made us go anyway. We decided to leave early hoping we would arrive there before lunch, but the supposed to be 2 hour drive became longer because of plenty of awesome views along the way. When we finally arrive, the long drive proved to be all worth it. This shot was taken around 2:30pm with partly cloudy skies.Lighting
We were hoping for some clear skies and sunlight, but ended up making do with the cloudly skies. So i decided to do a long exposure to make the gloomy sky more dramatic.Equipment
This was shot with a Fujifilm Xpro2. I also used a tripod, Lee Filters Big Stopper, so i could do long exposure and achieve the soft effect on the water, Lee 0.9 Soft Grad filter to expose the sky, a Polarizer to reduce reflections, and a remote trigger to avoid camera shake, making sure i get the sharpest image.Inspiration
Banff National Park is one of the most beautiful places on earth. It is one of the places every landscape photographer must visit. With a vibrant blue lake, amazing water falls and incredible mountains, Banff is one of the most beautiful places to capture in the whole of Canada.Editing
I usually do my post processing in Lightroom first for some basic color correction, then i export it to photoshop for some further adjustments, then if needed i finish it off in Google Nik Software for some tonal and dynamic contrast. In my camera bag
Equipment i always bring with me are my main cam the Fujifilm XT1, 10-24mm for landscape, 56mm for portraits and 16mm 1.4 for night photography. Second is my favorite filters, The Lee big stopper for mid day long exposure, Lee Little Stopper for long exposure during sunrise and sunset, Lee Soft Grads and a polarizer. Third is my Benro Tripod with B1 head. Fourth would be my Shutter release cable. And lastly, my lens cleaners, microfiber cloth, Air blower, pen brush and Lens tissue cleaner.Feedback
Time is the most important investment you can make in getting good landscape pictures. Learn where and when the sun rise and set ( Yes there is an app for that, i use Wunderground app for the sunrise and sunset time, and Star Walk app to find the location of the sun ). Arrive in the location early, it will give you more time scouting, dont stop looking until you find that one perfect vantage point.
