I still have not really worked out what they meant by social exposure. It seems everything from trains to fairies and rabbits goes, but all I can say is that this image certainly makes me remember the smell of train compartments - and I don't mean social exposure - A fascinating photograph keeps me looking too ..

Behind The Lens

Location

This foto was taken in an urbex place, in my neighbourhood, in belgium. It is a remnant of the Orient Express. A luxery long-distance passenger train service created in 1883, from a belgian company. The train drove from belgium to istanbul.

Time

it was a sunny afternoon, white a blue open sky. Summer time.

Lighting

Because of the blue open sky was it inside a nice bright light, to take perfect photos.

Equipment

I used my mefoto globetrotter tripod, with my nikon d5200 atached to it. As lens i used my wide angle, sigma 10-20mm and a polorazing filter.

Inspiration

as I stepped through the door of the train, i was stunned by the dark, brown colors. The old style, the abandonment and the light that came through the windows. Then when i saw the seats in a line, i new what photo to take.

Editing

I did post-processing beceause of the exposure shots i had taken. I did it beceause of the hdr i wanted. What i did is, i blended my exposures together, give it some more contrast and make the lights better to give it a warmer feeling.

In my camera bag

I always take my macro lens, wide angle and my telelens with me. My nikon d5200 and my mefoto globetrotter tripod. Than i always have my filters with me, a polarization, 10 stop, 6 stop and a 3 stop nd filter. Some batterys and wirless remote.

Feedback

Look for what you like in a place, like colors you like, what light you like and the style of the place. Than see what point of view you have as you set up your camera. Look after lines and patterns and think about how the frame you take will be as it is finished after post-porcessing. And don't forget to feel and connect with the place.
