The photo was taken in a big beautiful garden in belgium. It was some trip to get there.Time
Me and my friends where going on a trip to the gardens of annevoie between dinant and namur. There was an event of venitian costums. I live around an hour and a half away from that place, so we had to leave early in the morning. It was the first time i did something like that, so i was stund when i came there, such a beautiful place. I was looking for nice shots until i came by these two. They where very funny, happy and looking very nice.Lighting
When i seen theme i thought about two happy children playing hide & seek. But the trees, the garden, the dark water and the day was very grey, it couldt rain every minute.Equipment
It was taken with a Nikon D5200, a 18-105 zoom lens, build in flash and taken out of hand.Inspiration
It was more of a bump in to shot, like you just walk somwhere and bam, you see something very nice. I saw them and thought, what a happy couple. But when i take a second look, with the surroundings, the dark water, the dark trees, the dark day. My thought was more of a darker look with some happy collors in it.Editing
Normally i do landscape so what i ussely do is blending or hdr, but this time i don't had the time for two exposures or more. So it was a one shot photo, that i did with ballence, a little bit darker and more contrast for a more powerfull feel of the photo. I ussely dodge and burn my photo's, because i like the freedom of doing every peace part by part. And the effect of the different lichting between the parts of my photo's.In my camera bag
What i always take is, my nikon d5200 naturally, my standard zoom lens of 18-105 for most of the shots. My wide-angle for landscape and city scape. A tripod for better quality and long exposures. Flash light you never know, and cleaning and uv filters for my lenses.Feedback
The best thing you can do is, have fun taking pictures, and try to improve yourself, by setting goals but not to high at ones. Just to puch yourself, and try to do different stuff ocassionally, it wil help you feel diffrent about taking photo's and think about stuff you normaly don't think of. Look for funny things, special things and places, and always think about what do i like. That is sort of the best advice i can give. For this shot i looked at the lines in the trees, the happynes in the people and how beautiful they where. the darkness of the whole concept.
