Behind The Lens

Location

Banff - lake louise, Alberta, Canada

Time

7:10AM

Lighting

I wanted to use the golden light right as the sun rose from the other side. The magical light helped to take the image to the next level

Equipment

Taken with a nikon d700 combined with the nikkor 16-35 F4 lens at f7.1 and stabilized on a Vanguard 263 Altapro

Inspiration

I always had a love for mountains and i had pictured this image in my head long ago. The first time i came here i suffered two broken hands by an accident the week earlier. So i could not take the image at the first try. However, for the second time i had the image in my head. All i had to do was dial in the settings and some post work on lightroom to match this image with the one in my mind

Editing

Yes! Lightroom 5.6! Helped enhancing the colors of the raw files to match it as close as possible to the real life view

In my camera bag

Nikon d700, nikon d90. Nikkor 16-35 VR, 24-70 ED, 70-200 VRI, Sigma 105mm macro. Nikon sb-700 speed light and my trusty vanguard 263 AT. Carrying them all in the Manfrotto unica stile V! Shutter release, filters cleaning clothes

Feedback

Try to capture these images during magical light moments (sunrise and sunset). Using a tripod will ensure stability and most importantly creating thr image in your head and then trying again and again to make it as similar as possible. When buying camera equipment start small and only invest and expand when you are limited by your current gear. Only then will you be able to understand and use your equipment to its fullest potential.
