Location
This photo was taken at my home in Scottsdale, AZTime
As this was an indoor shoot. Time of day was not a critical as it is with outdoor photos. This was shot on a hot August day in Arizona, where I wanted to stay inside rather then go out.Lighting
Off camera flash was fired; canon flash. Indoor light hand held "fire " flash.Equipment
Canon EOS 40D ; Tripod ; 100-400 lens ; Canon flashes ; Pink craft paper; seltzer water; small aquarium ; orange slice.Inspiration
My boyfriend and I are both photographers . We both primarily shoot wildlife,we have often talked about doing other things, an experimenting with indoor shots, especially when it is too hot to go outside and shot. This series of shots was an experiment to see something different. Still life and the coming together of simple things like fruit and water. We had saw this concept on several youtube tutorials and thought we'd give it a try. This shot really required an assistant . Some one to fire the flash, pour more water if necessary and make sure the fruit was aligned properly. Having one that was also a photographer in this case was a big plus.Editing
Very minimal post-process. Sharpen and add some contrast. In my camera bag

Look up youtube tutorials on fruit and water shots. It helps to have a second set of hands. Any brand of bubbly water will do , we opted for store brand. Craft paper was bought at Michaels. Be patient , try several color combos and different timing of shots.Any small container can do the trick just dependent on what the final product you are after.
