Fantastic capture! I love how the foreground and background have a bokeh consistency to them, yet the middle has a sharp silhouette with the water rippling and grass poking up crystal clear. The reflections are magnificent too!

Bosque del Apache Wildlife refuge.Soccoro,New Mexico.

Time

Sunset just as the day was coming to a close and most of the Cranes had left the crane pools.

Lighting

I wanted to show off the unique beauty of this glorious Sandhill Cranes in a way that was unique.The Setting sun that night provided me with just the opportunity.

Equipment

Canon 7d 500 mm.

Inspiration

I love Bosque.I love birds.I love to show off birds in a way that others may not view them in.

Editing

I try to keep my post processing to a minimum.For this shot all that I did was crop and adj sharpness and saturation.

In my camera bag

Canon 50d,100-400 lens.For this trip my BF loaned me his 7d and 500mm lens.

Feedback

Look for the beauty in the simple things.Stick around awhile after the crowds have left.Notice silhouettes and the effects that shadows can have on animals.
