This image was made during the monsoons in the Western Ghats, one of places on planet with rich biodiversity.Time
This was shot during the midday when sun was at its peak. I was walking along a trail looking for subjects to photograph, then this guy all of a sudden tried to leap onto the other side of the trail, but ended up next to me, I moved giving him the space, this scared him and he was in his defensive posture, I quickly positioned myself its eye level and made couple of nice images before he moved in his path.Lighting
Monsoons are the best time to make lovely contrasty images. I love the contrast I got in this particular image.Equipment
This was shot on Nikon D5100 with tamron 90mm macro lens, handheldInspiration
I always want to document the unseen nature. The Western Ghats of India being rich in biodiversity has not let me down anytime of the year.Editing
The image straight out of camera was a bit underexposed. I had to correct the exposure and adjust the shadows a little bit.In my camera bag
Nikon D850, Nikon 5100, tamron 90mm macro, 2 nissin i60 flash units with diffuser and couple of batteries.Feedback
The Western Ghats is a paradise for those who love critters. It has ample opportunity for macro photography.
