Behind The Lens

Location

The photo was taken in the countryside of Renazzo (birthplace of Ferruccio Lamborghini) a small town in Emilia Romagna in northern Italy. Since we are still very much alive paeane festivals and the traditions of the past. The musical band presides at every event and is a hub of social activities.

Time

The shot was made one evening in April at 18.

Lighting

The light is the key component of an image, without a dramatic evening light this shot would not have been the same, the texture of the grass, for example, could not have been highlighted in this way.

I have take this shot with Nikon D3100 and Nikkor 16-85 without tripod

Inspiration

On the day of shooting, I wanted to document a typical day in the band of my country during his music releases. My intention was to capture the joy they have these guys making music together. After being photographed all afternoon, during the parade of music, in the evening we arrived in the vicinity of a field planted with wheat. The members of the band kept playing and joking they entered the field. At that point I saw that the situation was perfect, the evening light was great and they were joking and playing carefree in the wheat field, as if they were still children, I saw the happiness in their faces and the joy of playing together.

Editing

For post production I used Lightroom, shooting in RAW, I edited the contrast, clarity and saturation, the rest was not necessary as it is already very good at shooting the picture.

In my camera bag

At this time I like to travel light, so I have with me a Sony a6000 with a 16-50, usually in a backpack I also have the Nikon D7000, a Nikkor 16-85, a Nikkor 50 f / 1.4 and a Sigma 10-20.

Feedback

For a successful shot, the light is always the key, lets give depth and texture to every best picture, also I love shoot subjects in natural poses without coercion, in this shot the musicians were enjoying themselves and step this joy naturally and is well marked. Finally, you also need luck ...
