Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in a hotel room. I don't have a studio so I have to grab whatever opportunity is available to me.

Time

I don't remember what time this was taken. I had put blinds in front of the window so that I can have complete control over the lighting.

Lighting

I used a studio light with a very large brolly to give me beautifully soft light. Placed it camera left at about the same level as the camera.

Equipment

This was shot with a Nikon D800, using a 24-120 f4 lens at about 50mm the model is laying on a black sheet that is lifted to create a backdrop.

Inspiration

I'm always looking to create simple and sensual images.

Editing

With this image, i pushed the blacks to ensure that black is really black. One or two clones to remove unwanted detail, otherwise left alone.

In my camera bag

My 24-120 f4 is my go to lens for this kind of work. It goes everywhere with me, along with my D800

Feedback

Keep it simple. This is a single light image, dont get caught up with detailed lighting set ups, go with tour gut. If it looks good to you, it'll look good to others.
