Location
I took this photograph Thursday 30th January 2014 in Sheffield.Time
It was roughly about midnight.Lighting
It was dark, foggy and the only source of light was the lamp-post.Equipment
I used my Nikon D3100 DSLR with the lens it comes with and my manfrotto tripod.Inspiration
I study media TV and Film, so when I see something that looks amazing I have to capture it. At the time we had to come up with horror film ideas therefore I went walking on a foggy night to give me some ideas and I saw this shot. I ran home, got my camera and captured it.Editing
I didn't really have to make any changes to it but I did use curves to brighten it up slightly. In my camera bag
As a student I can't afford much but I carry my Nikon D3100 and D3200 with the lenses they come with, Nikon Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm lens, my YN560-2 flash, battery charger and 5 back-up batteries.Feedback
Well to capture this I was looking for something that would fit the horror genre, so my advice to capture a similar photograph would be to look for somewhere you'd think a horror would take place, wait for it to turn dark and capture away. I personally wouldn't use a flash for this sort of photograph, I'd get experimental with different light sources like with lamp posts, torch, car lights- anything that gives off light. If you were to use flash, don't use it from the top of the camera.
