Phugtal Gompa and village surrounding it. This tibetan buddhism monastery is located in the heart of Zanskar, India on the route from Darcha to Padum. It's build directly on the mountain with part of houses and praying halls being carved in the rock. In 2009 the only why to get there was to do the trek from Darcha to Padum which takes around 10 days to complete. The monastery is more or less in the middle of the trek.
