Location
This photo was taken in the area surrounding Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre in Sabah, Borneo, Malaysia in 2010 during my one year trip around south east Asia.Time
After the morning feeding time has ended and all visitors have left the Centre I've decided to explore the jungle trail and do a little tropical trekking. After a while the heat and humidity became so intense that I've decided to return. On the way back I've spotted have wandering near the centre covered in blue plastic bug.Lighting
It was quite dark because of dense trees coverage so I had to increase ISO in order to get well exposed picture.Equipment
Nikon D80 with 50mm 1.4 Nikkor lensInspiration
Young female orangutan acting as a shy human girl, covering her nudity in a plastic bug (product of human society) I wanted to show how the kingdom of animals in influenced by kingdom of man.Editing
I shoot RAW and do all post-processing in Adobe Lightroom. It's mostly basic manipulation with contrast, exposure and lighting. In my camera bag
During whole year in Asia I was carrying my old Nikon D80 together with set of lenses (50mm 1.4f, 24mm 2.8f, old heavy Nikkor 70-200mm 2.8f and a cheap kit 18-70mm 3.5-4.5f) I also used on occasions old Speed Light Flash on manual mode.Feedback
Great passion for traveling and exploration is in my opinion the key here. Don't be afraid to get off the beaten track and checking what's going on far away from the main touristic attractions. Of course always respect the rules and mores of the place were you are.
