So... got stuck in a sandy wash near Joshua Tree over the weekend with my wife's boss. While we waited for the tow truck we figured there wasn't much to do, so we took out our cameras. The sun was going down, so we got some good sunset pics as the sun was setting. Once the sun was down, the stars lit up. There was very little light pollution, so we could actually see the milky way with our eyes! I am still working on getting better night shots and I need to get a better (wider) lens, but the meteor was an extra bonus in this shot. Hint: It is not the bright streak on the left (that is an airplane).
