(Tom) In other news.... Santa was held up today by a man in a Black Stormtrooper outfit. Luckily this was the day Santa was out collecting the coal for all of the naughty boys and girls.
(Jill) I think there will be a few kiddos who will be disappointed this year!

Location
This was taken at work during some down time. I collect the Lego mini figures and have them all over my work desk.Time
This was shot on December 4th, probably around lunch time. This was an indoor shot, so time of day doesn't really apply.Lighting
Everyone loves the Office Florescent Lighting right? right? Yeah.. so nothing special here.Equipment
I used a Nikon D7100 with the 18-55mm kit lens. f11, 1 second exposure time, 44mm. No flash. No tripod. No Other.Inspiration
I collect the Lego mini figures and will group them up when I have ideas that I think are fun. Being close to Christmas when I shot this, I combined the Lego Star Wars Tie Fighter pilot with Santa Clause to create "The Heist" scene.Editing
It has been a while since I took the shot, but I probably cropped this a bit, did some sharpening and enhanced the colors. In my camera bag
What is in my bag will depend on what I am planning on doing. I always have the Nikon D7100, a 50mm 1.8, and the 18-55 kit lens. I will add the Nikor 55-300 or 200-500mm telephoto lenses, a 35mm 1.8, or a GoPro Hero2. If I need it I will add an Altura flash, Vanguard Tripod or monopod, a Black Rapid sport camera strap, and filters. Otherwise I have the typical birage of extra batteries, memory cards, cleaning equipment, reference card, black Sharpie marker (even though I have never needed it!), a leather-man multipurpose tool, flashlight or headlamp, and a small first aid kit.Feedback
Be creative, have fun, tell a story. I will often mix sets, heads/bodies or even accessories to make up a story. I have included non-Lego items as well (coke bottles, Minion figures of difference sizes, McDonald toys, etc.) if I think it helps create the image I want. You may not want to do this at work, like I did (Hope my boss doesn't find out!), if you are in a highly visible place, but it can be fun for your co-workers to provide ideas and help with set up and extra pieces.
