This is one of my favorite images from my second sunrise at Torres del Paine national park. During the first day i looked for some locations to shoot sunrise and luckly found this spot. I thought it was good but it was a little bit far away, and getting to it during the night might not be that easy... However, i decided to go for it and before 5 am i was already walking to the spot.
When looking at the night sky, things didn't seem promising as almost no star was visible. I arrived at the location at 6:50am, and when i was almost hopeless about having a pink sunrise a pinkish reflection coming from above the horns started to shine my day. I had time to frame the shot and try different stuff, even with a very long shutter speed. This is for me the most important rule for sunrise photography... even is you already selected the spot, GO EARLY! Light changes and new compositions may come to your mind, but the perfect light won't be there for a long time, so normally it is important to frame before the best light.
This time, i had the chance to do that... i arrived more than 1 hour before sunrise and did everything as it is supossed to be done. Luckily, this time nature rewarded me enormously!
