I was on a photo safari that day with our dog Missy, near our remote cabin in the woods in the Feather River area of northern California. Missy is extremely camera-shy, so I could only photograph her from a distance. She is in tall dry grass and I am about 30 ft. away using an 18-200 Tamron lens on my Canon XTi. Missy (gone now) was as ethereal as this photo suggests, so I chose this slightly furry shot to represent her in a portrait.
