Taking night shots with my new Canon 6D in rural Alabama was a great learning experience, as I typically shied away from this type of shot with the T2i because of comparatively poor low light performance. The 6D is a totally different beast though, excelling with low light/high ISO noise performance. I'm standing behind the two cypress trees shown in the first picture, while the grill shown in the last picture is to the left by the screened in patio (which also is the same patio shedding incandescent light on the tractor in the earlier shot!). This image is a blend of two shots, with the second shot being a darker exposure to capture the detail in the windows and porches. The images were stacked as layers in Photoshop and a simple layer mask was used to see through the main exposure to the darker exposure capturing the brighter details.
