Grand Falls Photographer... this place is pretty unique. On one side of the Little Colorado River is a rust colored sandstone. The side I'm standing on is a black volcanic rock. It made for an unusual canyon.
I didn't really like the monotone color of this photo, which was taken a little while after sunset, but it did make the photographer's clothing stand out nicely. These falls are actually higher than Niagra Falls, so the magnitude of it's size doesn't show well here.
This was done as an HDR shot and I had some ghosting to remove near the photographer, since this was a pretty long exposure. Hope you like it!

Big Congrats Blair, I've told you I like this shot a lot. Love the contrasting color of the jacket against this scene. The scene itself is very surreal. Great work as always and a huge congrats.

Your caption helps appreciate the magnitude of the falls... You're right, at first they appear small (a "trompe l'oeil" ). Well done and a big congrats for another great shot. Bravo!

Congratulations!!! Great capture!!! From this view, it's hard to believe the falls are higher than those of Niagra Falls...truly amazing!!!
