This is a small edge of a large flight of blackbirds. I just couldn't get my camera to focus at the right distance -- it couldn't use the birds as a source, I guess. So as they flew off, I spun around got my focus on some trees I thought were about the same distance, spun back to capture the birds and this is what I got. It's one of those things you get accidentally that create this nearly surreal image. I almost deleted this image when I took it.

Thanks! I think what makes this image compelling at all is that there is a mix of the grass on the ground and the trees with sky in the background. I have another where it's basically just blue sky with all the birds and I think this one stands out a bit more.
