Went to shoot the morning sunrise at the beach on Fire Island but the sun was blocked by a low lying cloud bank off shore. Turned around to shoot the lighthouse and the clouds were lit up with color. Always remember to turn around, sometimes the view is behind you. Fire Island, Long Island, NY.

Amazing shots! I truly enjoyed your gallery! I am an aspiring nature photographer and take all my pics with my phone. Could you recommend a camera for me to start with? Thank you so much in advance!

Areed73 - for nature, you need a camera that lets you control depth of field, and offers lenses for use in low light. I would start with the base model SLR of wither Canon or Nikon. I use Pentax, but it seems to be on the way out - not many independent firms are making lenses/accessories for Pentax. If you later move up to a higher-end camera of the same brand, you can use both, or use the base model for rough-dirty work. "Kit lenses" are good to learn on, but you will soon discard them for better prime lenses (but kit lenses are sometimes virtually free).
